How to do CPR?

First of all...

• Check the surrounding area to make sure its clear and safe

Step 1

Status checking

• Shout at the patient or lightly tap on the shoulder to see if the person responds
• Check the person's belly for breathing movements. This should take less than 10 seconds

Step 2

Patient pulse is stop or only gasping

Activate emergency responding
• Get AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
• Call 911

Step 3

Let help the patient

• Put the patient supine on a flat, firm surface

Step 4

Let help the patient

• One hand on top, one hand on the bottom, interlocking fingers and elbows locked
• Put hands on sternum, not xiphoid

Step 5

Remember: 30 chest compression, 2 rescue breath

• Deliver compression 100-120 bpm at 5-6cm depth
• Open airway by head-tilt maneuver
• Each breath provides visible chest raise

Step 6

Some reminder

• Minimize interruption for more than 10 seconds
• Blood and oxygen unable to deliver to heart and brain without continuous compression
